We refinish kitchen and bath cabinets, both painted and stained. That covers existing boxes and doors you already have, and new or unfinished cabinets that need a finish before they go in. Doors and drawer fronts come off, hardware comes off, and the boxes stay in place unless the job calls for something else. We clean grease off the kitchen surfaces, sand the old finish so the new coat has something to hold, and prime before paint. Stain work gets the same sanding and a conditioner when the wood needs it, then stain and a clear topcoat. Color can be a solid paint, a stain that shows the grain, or a mix of the two on the same kitchen.
We also do finishes that are not a flat solid color. Weathered and distressed looks, faux grain, glazed accents, and two-tone cabinets where the island or the uppers are a different color than the rest. Those take extra steps on purpose. Glaze and distressing have to be controlled so the kitchen looks finished, not half-sanded. New cabinets get the same system as a repaint once the wood is prepped. You get a written scope that says whether we are painting, staining, or doing an accent finish, and what stays on site versus what comes back to the shop. Call (817) 829-9524 if you want us to look at the cabinets and tell you which finish will actually hold up in a working kitchen.
